Year 582 of the Second Era (2E 582) is a year in the Tamrielic calendar, the 582nd year after Potentate Versidue Shaie declared the start of a new Era which most of Tamriel use as a reference for the start of the Second Era.
2E 582 marked the end of the Planemeld crisis, which had ravaged all of Tamriel since 2E 580. Molag Bal was defeated by the Five Companions and his invasion was foiled by the combined force of the Mages Guild and Fighters Guild, along with divine aid from the Daedric Prince Meridia. During 2E 582 the Three Banners War continued to rage in Cyrodiil, and the instability on the continent resulted in many lesser conflicts, wars, and conspiracies.
