Abecean Sea

The Abecean sea is the sea off Tamriel's central western coast. It lies to the north of the Summerset Archipelago, to the west of Cyrodiil, and to the west and south of Hammerfell. The sea is large enough to make large-scale invasions and military incursions between Alinor and mainland Tamriel difficult. There is regular trade across the Abecean Sea between the two landmasses. Altmer nobles are sometimes fostered or seek refuge in the cities across the water.

The Abecean sea can be rough in autumn, when storms are common. In winter, the storms are worse but less frequent. 

Geography

The Abecean sea connects the Eltheric Ocean in the south, and the Sea of Pearls in the west, which it is separated from by the island chain known as the Thrassian Archipelago.

The Abecean sea begins along the southwestern coast of Hammerfell and north of the Summerset Archipelago, curving slightly eastwards. Settlements along the coast of the former region include X, X, and X, and settlements along the northern coasts of the latter region include X, X, and X.
