Aerel's first coronation occured after Aerel's First Blood during his conquest, when the several lords that had surrendered to the invading Aranas were called to the Gryphonhold. Aerel was proclaimed 'King of All the Isles' by his sister-wife Alyssare, and he made his intentions of conquering the entire Summerset Archipelago known.
The Coronation[]
After several lords of northern Calambar submitted to Aerel and his gryphons, they were called to the recently-constructed wooden hillfort known at the time as the Gryphonhold. It was there that the Arana banner was unfurled and Aerel's sister-wife Alyssare proclaimed him 'King of All the Isles', laying claim to the entire Summerset Archipelago.
Aftermath[]
After his coronation Aerel took his armies northward towards Auridon's capital of Firsthold, though his youngest sister Rhaethen remained behind to secure the south against the many lords of southern and central Calambar.
Aerel's son Daethen was present for his father's coronation, and was later tasked with joining his aunt in defending the Gryphonhold from southern attacks.
