Bavian was a priestess of Meridia in Kilkreath Temple during the time of the Three Banners War. She eventually set aside her faith after witnessing the corruption of her temple in 2E 588, when her goddess supposedly turned her back on her faithful and did not aid them in their time of need.
Appearance and Character[]
Bavian was fair of skin and bore hair coloured a dark brown. Her eyes were a simple grey, which gave her a chilling and stern gaze. During her time in Kilkreath Temple she would often wear robes, brown and grey in colour, though she eventually put them aside in 2E 588 when she lost faith in Meridia and turned from the temple.
Bavian was ever faithful to both her goddess and her fellow priests, particularly High Priest Varkour. Her faith was eventually shattered when her temple was corrupted and her goddess did not aid the faithful, seemingly abandoning them. Her entire worldview was broken that day, and she eventually left the temple to find her own way in the world.
History[]
Bavian was born sometime in the 2E 500s, and eventually found her way to Kilkreath Temple where she laboured to become a priest of the Daedric Prince Meridia. She worked closely alongside her friend and mentor, High Priest Varkour, who taught her the ways of worship and faith. She eventually became among the most devoted of the priests in the temple, and was seen as a leading light by many.
In 2E 588 a corruption was unleashed upon the temple, turning handfuls of priests into ravenous beasts of a vampiric nature. In her brotherhood's time of need Bavian prayed to her goddess, though the corruption was not purged, and her brethren continued to die. With the aid of some fellow priests, she eventually successfully retrieved Meridia's Beacon from the corrupted temple, which was later used to seal the temple and contain the corruption for a time.
Bavian's faith was shattered by the event, in which it seemed to her that Meridia had abandoned her faithful. Still loyal to her fellow priests, she remained for a time and tended to the wounded, though after a period of recovery she and several others left the priesthood and parted ways. It is unknown what became of Bavian after she departed the temple, though it is likely she remained in Skyrim.
