Beasts have a shrouded origin, as they do not fit into the common creation myth of the Dawn Era, wherein a being known as Lorkhan created the species of Man, while Mer were descended from aedric spirits.
Some claim that the Beast races were native to Tamriel before either Man or Mer arrived on the continent, which contradicts the aforementioned creation myth. Others have claimed that the Beast races are the result of either daedric influence, or powers far beyond contemporary understanding.
