The Bosmer of Valenwood act in accordance with the Green Pact, a deal made with the forest of Valenwood thousands of years ago. The Green Pact involves the practice of cannibalising dead creatures, whether they be Man, Mer, Beast, or animal. According to the Pact, no part of a creature killed by a Bosmer may go to waste, requiring the wood elves to make use of every part of the bodies of their dead enemies.
