Emperor, Lord of Heaven, and King-ut-Cyrod was the first title born by the ruler of the Alessian Empire of Cyrod.

History[]

Alessia I originally took the title 'High Queen of Cyrodiil', a title styled after that of the High King of the Ayleids, during her slave rebellion against the Ayelid Empire in 1E 242. It was taken primarily to increase her legitimacy, and some suspect, because there were simply few other places from which she, a Nede, could take inspiration other than from the greatest empire of her time.

Upon her coronation, Alessia put aside the title of 'High Queen', and instead adopted the title 'Empress, Lady of Heaven, and Queen-ut-Cyrod', which was given to her by her then-lover, the demi-god Morihaus. Henceforth all emperors of the Alessian Empire would bear the title, though eventually it would fall into disuse with the collapse of her empire. The Reman Empire under Reman I Cyrodiil instead took the simpler title of 'Emperor of Cyrodiil' after renaming the region of Cyrod to Cyrodiil.

The section of the title of 'Lord/Lady of Heaven' was specifically adopted by Alessia due to her religious reformation, which made the emperor of her new Empire the leader of the Faith. After the fall of the Alessian Empire, this honourific was dropped, remerging under the Second Empire as the 'Father/Mother of the Faithful'.
