Highcrest is an island in the Abecean Sea in the Vafe, a region of the Summerset Archipelago. The island is located northeast of Firsthold on the northern tip of the Vafe. It contains the castle of Highcrest, the seat of the heir apparent to the Lord of Firsthold of House Rilis.

Highcrest is a rocky island at the north of the Vafe.
The castle of Highcrest is a modest fortress located on the face of a small mountain. The nearby port contains inns. Farmers and fishermen live in villages below the castle.
Through the dalliances of many Rilis lords and princes over the years, many of the commonfolk of the island are descendants of that dynasty.
History[]
Exodus to Tamriel[]
Highcrest was first settled during the Exodus to Tamriel of the Merethic Era, when Torinaan I Rilis led nine ships to the shores of Auridon in the wake of the Sundering of Aldmeris. It was on Highcrest that Torinaan and his host first landed, the site of which is still remembered as Nine-Prow Landing, named after the Torinaan's nine ships. The island was at first ignored, used only for temporary encampment before Torinaan sailed once more to mainland Auridon the following day, later founding the city of Firsthold. It was not until long after Torinaan I's death that House Rilis returned to Highcrest to build the castle of Highcrest and simultaneously make known the location of Nine-Prow Landing for all future generations.
