House Neiaron was an Altmeri noble House of Alinor, as well as the royal House of the islands before being deposed by the Thalmor in 4E 22. The Neiaron sigil is an eagle beneath a decorated eight-pointed star, silver on yellow. The Neiarons ascended to the Marble Throne after the death of Queen Ayrenn I Arana in 2E 601, after which her paternal cousin, Alwinarwe Neiaron, became Queen.
The Neiarons ruled the Isles for hundreds of years, eventually bending the knee to Tiber I Septim during his wars of conquest. They continued their reign as kings under the Septim emperors, although their sovereignty was severely diminished. Neiaron power was all but shattered during the Oblivion Crisis, when the throne failed to protect its subjects from the invading daedra, creating a power vacuum filled by the ambitious Thalmor. In the following twenty-two years the throne shared a great deal of power with the Thalmor, who were hailed as the saviours of the Isles following their heroic victory over the daedric forces during the Crisis. Ultimately, the Neiarons were deposed and covertly executed by the Thalmor in 4E 22, extinguishing their line and placing a puppet king on the Marble Throne from House Telarion.
