House Septim of the Imperial City was a noble family of suspected Nordic descent who once ruled the Third Empire of Tamriel. The Septim sigil is a dragon in the shape of a diamond, black on red. The House words are "Feel Our Fury". It was founded as the first royal House of the Third Empire.
The House was founded in 2E 854, the year Tiber Septim initiated a war of conquest to seize all the kingdoms of Tamriel through blood and fire.
House Septim ruled as the Emperors of Tamriel for nearly five-hundred years. Nineteen Septims ruled from the Ruby Throne[N 1]. The dynasty ended with the death of Martin I during the Oblivion Crisis, in which the Septims were assassinated to extinction and eventually replaced with House Mede after a period of political turmoil.

Traits[]
The phrase "blood of the dragon" refers to the Dragonborn descent of the Septims, and more specifically to the fact that their founder, Tiber I Septim, was himself a Dragonborn.
The Septims could tolerate a bit more heat than most ordinary people; however, they were not immune to fire.
