House Torelle of Sunhold is an Altmeri noble House, and the current rulers of the Summerlands from their seat of Sunhold. Their sigil is a passant golden lion on a green field. Prior to their ascension as rulers of the Summerlands during Aerel's Invasion, the Torelles were a landless House that served House Caidan as stewards of Sunhold.
Following their appointment as rulers of the region, they have had to contend with challenges from various other regional Houses that claim a closer blood-connection to the Caidans. The Torelles have thus played a delicate balancing act over the centuries, using strategic marriages, good relations, and intrigue to keep the vast number of Houses from the Summerlands content and unwilling to revolt against them.
