The Imperial City is the capitol of the Third Empire, located in the Heartlands of Cyrodiil, the central region of Tamriel, on City Isle in Lake Rumare. It is situated in the centre of the Red Ring Road, the circular roadway that connects to all the other roads of Cyrodiil. The Imperial City is the site of the Ruby Throne and the White-Gold Tower, which is the seat of the Emperor Titus II Mede, from House Mede of the Imperial City.
The main city is surrounded by a wall, manned by the city watch. The Imperial City is also the most populous city in Tamriel, but unsightly and dirty compared to other cities. Poorer commoners may build shanty settlements outside the city walls. The stench of the city's waste can be smelled far beyond its walls.
The Imperial City, the principal harbour of Cyrodiil, is rivalled only by X. Nearby towns include X and X to the X, and X to the X, while the Great Forest is found west of the capital across Lake Rumare. Bravil and Leyawiin protect the great lake from the Topal Bay.
