Kingship is the position and power of a king. There have been many kings in the known world. In Tamriel, kings tend to inherit their titles through equal-preference primogeniture, save for the Kingdom of Hammerfell which has always practised male-preference primogeniture. Many of the regions of Tamriel had a king once, though by the Fourth Era much of the continent has been consolidated under a handful of titles.
