Nereon, called the the Winged Shadow, was a gryphon of House Arana. He was ridden by King Aerel I Arana of the Summerset Isles during his Invasion, alongside his sister-wife Queen Alyssare's Rhea, and his sister Rhaethen's Dawnwing. Nereon was also flown by Aerel's son, Daethen I.
Nereon disappeared after the death of Daethen I Arana during the Siege of Shimmerene, never to be seen again.
