Map of the known world (omitting Akavir, Atmora, and Aldmeris)
Nirn, sometimes called Mundus or simply the known world, is composed of at least three continents (Tamriel, Aldmeris, and Akavir), a large landmass (Pyandonea), and a number of many smaller islands. None of the four major landmasses have been completely mapped. The known world is part of a round planet, which might be roughly the size of Earth, if not a little larger. There might still be commoners who believe the world to be flat.

Pyandonea is a large landmass to the south of Tamriel, far across the X Sea from Elsweyr. It may or may not be a continent, and its size is still unknown, as few Tamrielic explorers dare to travel there.
