The Orcish language is spoken by the many orcish peoples of Tamriel. Because of the secluded nature of orc strongholds, rarely do two orc clans speak the same version of the language, especially if they live on opposite sides of the continent. However, linguistic similarities are such that they are able to communicate with one another with great issue, especially if done via clan scribes who can go through the trouble of translating.

The term 'Orcish' primarily refers to the language, though if spelled in lower case (i.e., orcish), then it refers to the race and their culture. Thus saying "this tablet is of orcish origin" would mean the tablet was made by orcs or is connected to orcish culture, but saying "this tablet has Orcish markings on it" would mean that the tablet in question has words of the Orcish language etched into its surface.
