Tamriel: Located in the centre of the known world, Tamriel extends southwards from the Sea of Ghosts to the Eltheric Ocean, and westwards from the Padomaic Ocean to the Abecean and Azurian Seas. The White-Gold Tower, a colossal tower which extends hundreds of feet into the air, is located in the exact centre of the large continent. Tamriel is inhabited by several overlapping political entities, including the Third Empire, the Third Aldmeri Dominion, and the Kingdoms of Morrowind and Hammerfell.
Akavir: Located to the far east of Tamriel (often called 'the Eastern Continent'), Akavir is home to many jungles, green plains, and civilisations. It was once inhabited by the Akaviri, a race of Men that developed their own intricate societies in their homelands. However, the Akaviri were almost driven to extinction by the Tsaesci, who prompted the Akaviri to abandon their continent in the hope of establishing their own realm wherever they landed, leading to the First Akaviri Invasion of Tamriel. Akavir remains shrouded in mystery.
Yokuda: Located in the far west of the known world and separated from Tamriel by the Sea of Pearls, Yokuda extends southward for many thousands of miles on a series of islands. It is much smaller than Tamriel, and even in its prime it did not have high levels of population. The continent was once inhabited by the Yokudans and the Lefthanded elves, though at some point the elves were all exterminated by the Yokudans. For unknown reasons, the Yokudans abandoned their continent during the Merethic Era, migrating to Tamriel and eventually landing in modern-day Hammerfell, where over centuries they became the contemporary Redguards.
Atmora: Located in the far north of the known world and separated from Tamriel by the Sea of Ghosts, Atmora finds itself at the centre of the northern polar icecap, and is among the most coldest places in the world. It is said that the continent is still sparcely populated by its native Atmorans, though much of its population migrated to Tamriel over the course of millenia, the most notable migration being the Return of Ysgramor in the late Merethic Era. The Atmorans that landed in modern-day Skyrim would eventually become the contemporary Nords.
Aldmeris: Located south of both Tamriel and Pyandonea, Aldmeris is the subject of many myths and legends. It is said that the entire continent was once covered by a giant city, and that in its prime it was four times as populated as Tamriel, its density allowing for more population. The continent was eventually destroyed in the Sundering of Aldmeris, a mysterious cataclysm that caused the collapse of the Aldmeri Hegemony. After the Sundering, many native Aldmer fled to Tamriel, where they landed in the modern-day Summerset Archipelago, eventually spreading to the far reaches of Tamriel, with the various branches of Aldmer eventually becoming the modern races of Mer.
