Saleth V Harlore was the last of House Harlore's kings to rule over the Vale. During the early First Era he greatly expanded his castle of the Aerie which would serve to be his doom. During Aerel's Invasion he remained behind the Aldaerie mountains in the Vale until after the defeat of two of his fellow Altmeri kings at the hands of the invading Aranas, though eventually he too died at their hands.

Appearance and Character[]

At the time of Aerel's Invasion Saleth was an old grey man who wore unornamented plate armour. His hair was a dark grey peppered with white, though he still had virility and pride within him.

A proud and stubborn man, Saleth Harlore's heartlessness is known throughout the Summerset Archipelago. He is remembered in children's stories as evil.

Quotes by Saleth[]

Aerel: Yield my lord; yield now and you may remain as Lord of Cloudrest. Yield now and your children will rule after you. I have eleven thousand men at your gates.

Saleth: What is outside my gates is of no concern to me. They were built high and strong.
Aerel: Not so high as to keep out gryphons, my lord. Gryphons fly.
Saleth: This city was built in stone. Stone does not crumble at a gryphon's approach.

Aerel: Take one last look at your gleaming city. When the sun sets, your line shall end.

—Saleth and Aerel the Gryphon
