Shahvee is an Argonian immigrant dwelling in the Argonian Assemblage in Windhelm. She works as a tanner on the docks outside the city walls, as Argonians are not permitted within the city proper. Out of desperation she used to be a thief, but eventually turned to worshipping Zenithar, and turned away from lawlessness in favour of earnest work.
History[]
Shahvee was born in her native Black Marsh, but for unknown reasons decided to migrate to Skyrim, eventually finding herself in the city of Windhelm. The laws of the city, maintained by Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak, forbids Argonians from entering within the city's walls, so she and her fellow Argonians are forced to dwell in destitute lodgings near the docks.
When she left Black Marsh Shahvee turned to thieving to make a living, stealing others' goods and laundering them to turn a profit. According to her, this experience taught her valuable skills that helped her survive in the hostile new land she found herself. She later turned to worshipping Zenithar, the god of commerce and work, after which she put her thieving days behind her. After this religious epiphany she took up work as a tanner on Windhelm's docks. Despite not bringing in as much money as thieving did, she considers it honest and safe, worthy of Zenithar's admiration.
Quotes by Shahvee[]
What's the point in being miserable all the time? I know life on the docks isn't easy. Sometimes life puts you in difficult circumstances you didn't choose. But being happy or unhappy is a choice you make, and I've chosen to make the best of things that I can.
—Shahvee about her life
We have not faired well outside our native Black Marsh, but we're determined to make the best of things.
—Shahvee about her and her fellow Argonians in Windhelm
Before I came into Zenithar's calling, I confess I was a thief. But I learned a few things in my time that helped me survive.
