A thrall is an indentured servant, found only in the orcish strongholds of Tamriel.

Thralls of the orcs may only be obtained through capture while raiding. They are not slaves since they may not be sold and they may not be obtained by paying coin. Unlike the children of slaves, the children of thralls are free, although some orcs believe the children must be still dedicated to Malacath. The children of thralls cannot be taken from their parents until they are at least seven years old, the age when most orcs begin actively training in the art of combat.
Thralls are used for farming and mining, activities which the orcs consider unsuitable for themselves. Educated thralls are valued by the orcs as kinds of stewards, tutors, and clan scribes, while craftsmen thralls are also highly regarded. Some orcish priests are known to sacrifice thralls to Malacath by slitting their throats and giving their bodies to the Daedric Prince.
