The Warden of the Isles is the chief adviser to the King of Alinor and is the executor of the king's command in Alinor.
Culture[]
Duties of the Warden include commanding the monarch's armies, drafting laws, dispensing justice, and generally managing the day-to-day running of the kingdom. The Warden may act on the king's behalf when they are indisposed, and sit the Marble Throne while doing so. The Warden also sits on the council and will run the council if the monarch is not present.
The office typically makes the Warden the second-most powerful person in the kingdom next to the monarch, though some Wardens had the reputation of ruling their monarchs.
It is considered by some to be a difficult and unglamorous job of great responsibility. Many able Mer have failed in the office throughout history.
The Warden resides in a tower of Eldarhall in Alinor.
