Woods witches are generally considered harmless creatures, although some superstitious commoners may regard them with fear due to how removed they are from society. Woods witches know a little herb-craft and some midwifery and not much else. However, some woods witches are said to have the gift of prophecy.
In Morthal, a town of Hjaalmarch, woods witches are sometimes locally known as "clever women".

Woods witches are likely to be local or travelling women who use traditional healing, and perhaps simple spells and charms, to heal the sick or help the needy. They are familiar with herb-craft and can serve as midwives. Woods-witches can brew tansy tea to prevent pregnancy. Some have been known to have prophetic dreams.
